Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy with Ketamine

Psychedelic experiences provide a glimpse into the vast potentials of your mind. Ketamine, a safe and legal prescription medicine, can elicit powerful non-ordinary states of consciousness. Ketamine facilitates space from ordinary thoughts and feelings allowing subconscious impressions to arise to the surface. Ketamine allows dispassionate observation and reflection on difficult emotions and memories. There may be feelings of connection, love, compassion, or spiritual oneness. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) involves having one or more sessions to develop intentions and prepare for the session, doing the session together in our comfortable clinic space, and having subsequent therapy sessions to integrate and process the experiences. A typical KAP program has 4 – 6 ketamine sessions with preparation and integration therapy between. If we determine you’re a good fit for KAP, I’ll refer you to a partner physician at Journey Clinical who handles prescription and medication management.

Buddhist Psychotherapy

Buddhism has a sophisticated model of the mind, the causes of suffering, and offers an approach to developing inner resources. Spanning dozens of cultures over thousands of years, Buddhist philosophy has a rich textual tradition, deep meditation teachings, and a pantheon of colorful archetypical characters that provide guidance towards our own personal development. In therapy, Buddhism’s diverse philosophy can offer insights and techniques for managing emotions and responding to life’s challenges. I don’t impose a Buddhist religious worldview on my clients, but we can bring in these approaches to the degree you prefer. We can also work on struggles with spiritual communities, conflicts with spiritual teachers, developing or refining a meditation practice, and integrating spirituality into daily life.
